Making the commitment to work on yourself is not easy, but our clinicians are here to work with you step by step to help you achieve your goals. We offer a range of therapeutic approaches and are here to work with you in the way that works best for you to get where you want to be.
Couples may struggle in their relationship due to outside stressors or internal conflict. Couples counseling can be beneficial to provide people with a safe space to express their concerns and work with their partner to constructively solve problems, improve communication, and build a flourishing relationship.
DMV & Court Evaluations
Some of the clinicians at Healing & Growth Counseling are approved by OASAS to provide substance abuse assessments and evaluations for those who have been charged and/or convicted with an alcohol or drug related charge, such as a DWI or DUI. We offer a fair and unbiased process for evaluation, and can provide or refer out for treatment if necessary.
Stressors and concerns have the power of impacting not only individuals, but also the whole family unit. We offer family counseling services for families who would benefit from meeting together with a counselor to improve communication and work towards growth.
Students, new professionals working towards licensure, and licensed clinicians engage in consultation to further their clinical skills, expand their expertise in certain areas, and/or to gain additional support in their work with clients. We offer both individual and group consultation options within our practice.
Some of the clinicians at Healing & Growth Counseling are trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. This type of therapy is known to accelerate the therapy process, and has been shown to be effective in treatment of many mental health concerns, including trauma, addiction, and anxiety. Please see the EMDR section for more information about this treatment modality, and call or send an e-mail for more information.
What is the Process Like?
We would start off with one or more sessions that focus primarily on exploring your reason for seeking counseling, as well as gathering information about your history. From this, we will come up with the goals that you want to achieve in counseling, and discuss possible paths that we can take to work towards those goals.
After this, we would meet as scheduled (usually weekly) to work towards your desired goals. Along the way, we will check in about your progress towards the goals that we established.
Eventually, our relationship is meant to end. We hope that all of our clients can one day say to us that they no longer need us because they have reached their goals and are able to maintain the progress they made!
