Eating Disorders / Body Image
Do you spend a large majority of each day focusing on thoughts related to food, weight, and body?
Do you struggle with controlling your food intake so rigidly that any alteration to it can trigger an unhealthy spiral? Do your thoughts and behaviors regarding food and body alienate you from others? Do you utilize compensatory behaviors to "make up" for consuming more food than planned? If you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, you may struggle with disordered eating or body image concerns. Building a healthy relationship with your body and with food can be a challenging and complicated process. Here at Healing & Growth Counseling, we believe in individualized care that is based on each client's needs and situation. We often work in a team approach with other professionals, including dietitians, medical doctors, and psychiatric providers. We utilize modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR to assist our clients in healing from past experiences that have impacted their relationship with their bodies and food, and to build a healthier relationship moving forward.
