Fees for In Person and Online Therapy in New York

Our practice allows for a combination of self-pay and insurance-pay services. If we are in-network with your insurance company we are happy to utilize your benefits. Should you prefer to not use your insurance benefits, we will respect that and charge a self-pay rate for your visits. If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits for your services, we will assist with that either by courtesy billing, providing a superbill, or arranging an agreement with your insurance company to use your benefits. Using Insurance for Therapy

Healing & Growth Counseling is in-network with the following insurance companies:

We will also work with you to best utilize your out-of-network benefits. See below for details on how we work with insurance companies that we are not in-network with.

Using Out-of-Network Benefits for Counseling

While we are not in-network with every insurance plan, we do our best to assist people in using their insurance benefits as much as possible. Many insurance plans include "out-of-network benefits", which allow you to see a provider who is not in-network with the insurance company, and have the insurance cover at least part of the cost.

We do our best to directly bill for your out-of-network services, depending on the insurance company's rules. Some insurance companies require the client to pay the provider for the full cost of the session, and then the insurance company will reimburse the client directly. Other insurance companies will pay their portion directly to the provider, meaning that you as the client only have to pay for your portion of the services, and we will take care of the rest! If you are unsure as to how your insurance plan would work, we can discuss it when you reach out to schedule an appointment.

We offer direct billing, so that you do not have to lay out the full cost of the session up front and wait for reimbursement, for the following insurance plans:

  • NYC Employees PPO Plan
  • United Healthcare

Fees for Therapy with an Intern

We have graduate-level student interns in our practice who have completed a majority of their coursework towards becoming a mental health counselor and are fulfilling their final graduation requirements. Many interns in our practice have already practiced in roles such as rehabilitation counselors, school counselors/psychologists, and vocational counselors. They offer sliding scale self pay services that begin at $50 per session, with the option of a lower cost if that is financially needed.
