Meg Ockovic, MHC-LP
My goal as a therapist is to build a strong alliance with my clients so that they feel supported and understood, and most importantly trusting of the process so that they can make meaningful changes in their life. Meeting my client where they are at during each stage of therapy is my main goal. I encourage clients to tap into their creative sides to enhance and work on problem areas in their life.
Good health includes mental health. Mental health is such an important area for an individual to acknowledge and be aware of in their life, yet it is also an area that is filled with stigmas and judgements. I want my clients to understand that they do not need to feel ashamed or lonely with their struggles, and that we share human experiences, and in becoming vulnerable we are able to truly allow individual healing to begin. I specialize in life transitions for adults, especially areas of self-concept, identity, demands of work, family & well-being. It is not easy being a human in the modern world. The struggle to find balance, inner peace, and fulfillment is real. As a result, many people find themselves suffering from anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and fatigue. Additionally, this may cause individuals to feel confused, overwhelmed, insecure, lost, or stuck. As a therapist I can help individuals increase and enhance positive coping skills while also exploring and learning more about themselves. Client Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are two approaches that I utilize with my clients, I always individualize, and I can take pieces of a vast number of theories of practice to give my client the most effective therapy. I am a culturally cognizant therapist, as well as LGBTQ+ affirming. As a therapist I approach all individual’s experiences through a trauma focused lens and help each client explore and process how past experiences in life have contributed to their identities as well as thoughts and behaviors. |
