Erin Langstaff, MSEd, MHC Intern
My name is Erin Langstaff. I'm so fortunate to have recently joined the team of professionals at Healing & Growth Counseling as a Mental Health Counseling Intern. For the past 21 years, I have been working as a school counselor, providing therapeutic support and social-emotional development to students, parents, teachers, and school staff. I'm excited to be expanding and deepening my counseling practice as a Mental Health Counseling Intern.
My counseling approach is rooted in connection. Not only the connections we have with others, but also our connection with ourselves. I take a trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT), with a strong belief in the mind-body-heart connection. My further training in yoga and mindfulness helps me to work with clients from a mind-body-heart lens. It is my philosophy that we all have many strengths, and sometimes just need to nourish and develop those strengths in order to take the next steps forward. My priority is to provide a safe, supportive, therapeutic space for clients to heal and grow. Together we will identify and develop coping skills, techniques in mindfulness, and safe expression and regulation of emotions. Sometimes our memories, thoughts, and beliefs feel like stagnant energy inside of us. By giving a voice to our experiences, we can gently shine light on those things that have remained in the dark inside of us. Let's begin the journey together! |
