Joann practices psychotherapy specializing in working with adolescents & adults in the treatment of anxiety, anxiety disorders, and trauma. This includes general persistent worrying (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), perfectionistic thinking, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive behaviors (OCD), social anxiety, & anxiety caused by past traumas. Anxiety is often experienced together with depression, stress, significant life changes, relationship issues, chronic medical illness or pain, or a desire to improve your quality of life. She works with persons with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and provides a safe LGBTQ environment.
Therapy is most productive when the relationship between the counselor and the client is formed upon comfort and trust. Joann uses her empathic and intuitive nature to connect with her clients and provide a safe atmosphere.
